VELOCE™ Cell-Free Protein Expression System

A cell-free protein expression system makes proteins in vitro directly from added DNA or mRNA using enzyme extracts (plus amino acids, cofactors, and energy). Because it works outside living cells, it isn’t limited by cellular metabolism and allows rapid, scalable production.

Express what cells can’t. From small domains to large ORFs, we reliably produce soluble proteins, membrane proteins, toxic proteins, enzymes, and other hard-to-express targets. Run 96-well high-throughput screens directly from plasmids or PCR products, see detectable protein in ≤2 hours, and scale preparative runs to high titers (up to ~3 mg/mL).

Our disulfide-optimized cell-free kit expresses full-length IgG, Fab, scFv, and VHH/nanobody—plus multi-specific formats—directly from plasmids or PCR amplicons. Run 96/384-well plates for same-day results: detectable expression in ≤1 hour and assay-ready material for ELISA/BLI/SPR within hours. Co-expression of heavy/light chains and built-in folding aids deliver soluble, functional antibodies for binder discovery, epitope binning, affinity maturation, and developability pre-screens—all without cell culture.
